I joined the Parish council in June 2012 with a wealth of experience in health service management, administration and governance. I qualified for the Certificate in Local Government Administration in July 2013 and undertook training in Cemetery Management in the summer of 2014. I routinely attend networking events with other Town and Parish Clerks and continue to work on my professional development as the Clerk for Blagdon Parish Council.
I grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne with three brothers and two sisters. I married my second wife Jane in June 2011 and have three adult sons, one step son and seven grandchildren. Jane and I enjoy walking and have recently started to take canal holidays.
Life on the council:
I enjoy the wide range of duties and responsibilities in supporting the Council to fulfil its statutory duty in serving the community in Blagdon.
I relish the challenges facing the Parish Council in the coming months with the continued localisation agenda and the proposed asset and service transfers from North Somerset Council to Town and Parish Councils.
