Town and parish councils are the first level of local government. They are intended to provide communities with a democratic voice and a structure for taking community action. Parish Councils are made up of elected representatives and can help on a number of local issues, like providing:
- allotments
- bus shelters
- cemetery
- play areas and play equipment
- grants to help local organisations
- consultation on neighbourhood planning
Blagdon Parish Council is responsible for managing the following.
